✨ The Prompt — Copy This
I've got around [approximate number] photos and videos on my phone, going back about [number of years] years. Here's what's prompting me to finally tackle this: [describe the situation — e.g. phone always running out of storage, dreading opening the gallery, switching to a new phone, worried nothing's backed up, want to print some for a frame].

What matters most to me: [e.g. photos of my kids, family holidays, pets, photos of a relative who has passed away, special events, photos of documents I've since thrown away].

My current setup: [e.g. iPhone with iCloud, Android with Google Photos, nothing backed up anywhere, backed up to an old laptop, already paying for extra storage I don't really understand].

I'd like you to help me do five things:

1. Build a realistic plan I can actually do — not a 40-hour project. Break it into manageable chunks (30–60 minutes each) I can fit around normal life.
2. Suggest a backup strategy that fits my current setup and doesn't require me to learn anything overly technical. Flag any free storage I might already have access to and not be using.
3. Tell me what to delete first (the easy wins — screenshots, duplicates, blurry shots, accidental photos of the inside of my pocket) and what to leave for later.
4. Recommend one or two lovely ways to actually enjoy the good ones — a photo book, a digital frame, a shared album, a small print run for the wall — based on what I've said matters most to me.
5. Give me a short bit of guidance on what to do when I come across photos I feel sentimental about but never look at, so I don't get stuck for hours on one folder.

Please give me the plan in plain British English, with clear steps I can tick off. Don't recommend anything that requires a paid subscription unless it's genuinely the best option for my situation — and if you do recommend one, explain why.
Top Tip Start with the easy wins — screenshots, duplicates and blurry photos can usually be cleared in a single sitting and will free up a surprising amount of space before you've even looked at a single holiday snap.
